Apple Crisp

And for dessert, we made Apple Crisp. When we make this John is always in charge of the apples and I'm in charge of the topping. Because he says I make it the best : )

FRUIT CRISP

Fruit:
6 cups sliced apples (or peaches)
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 tablespoon water
1 teaspoon lemon juice

Topping:
1 & 1/2 cup rolled oats
1 & 1/8 cup flour
1 & 1/8 cup packed brown sugar
3/4 cup butter, softened

Heat oven to 375 degrees. Place fruit in un-greased 2-quart casserole. Sprinkle with cinnamon, water and lemon juice. In a large bowl, combine all topping ingredients. With pastry blender or fork, mix until crumbly. Sprinkle evenly over fruit. Bake at 375 degrees for 25 to 35 minutes or until fruit is tender and topping is golden brown.

Serve warm with cream, vanilla bean ice cream or whipped cream.
