John and Audrey had been off school / work since Wednesday 12/19. I did have to work on Christmas Eve as it was a regular work day for me - however, I was able to get off by noon. We went to mom and dad's for dinner at 5pm. I brought my now-famous homemade chicken noodle soup. Kathy made Lentil Soup and Michelle made dessert. Grandma had crackers and rolls and cheeses. Audrey and Grandpa G had to promise not to turn on wrestling at 7pm : ) We had a nice time. See the neat wall quilt that Kathy made for mom with everyone's pictures on it. That gift was a hit. Christmas Day we started at our house with the presents and breakfast. Went to John's mom's for dinner.

Thanksgiving
We had a great time at mom and dad's. The whole family was there and the food was excellent. One of those days when the gravy is perfect and the potatoes are fluffly? We made John's famous Apple Raisin Cream Pie as one of our contributions. It is a wonderful recipe where you bake your apple pie normally (leaving a hole in the center crust) and then with 5 minutes left to bake, you pour heavy whipping cream into the pie. It is divine!

Dinner Theatre
Mom, Kathy and I went to a Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre up in Metaline Falls. It was fun as folks dressed in 50's attire and we were served our dinner on trays, just like we had while in school. Dinner consisted of mashed potatoes, gravy, peas, jello salad and turkey. After dinner and before dessert we got together with those at our table to figure out the various clues, going thru the main floor to get each one. When we thought we knew who had done it, we turned in our answer. I had never been to a mystery dinner before and really did not know what to expect. But we did have a good time!!

John's Plane
John entered his 1/3 Sopwith Pup model plane in the Spokane Interstate Fair and won both a Blue 1st place ribbon and a Purple Best in Class ribbon. Note the size - that is his real life pickup truck next to the plane. It's big. Lots of work (1 and 1/2 years worth) but I think he enjoyed it. Some day he'll take it on it's maiden flight after he gets some practice on the remote controls.
