Who is George?

I got a comment from George this week. Thanks! However, I don't know George and was not sure who he was. He left a polite comment, so I was not too concerned. It was a little odd though because it was from one of my posts from last summer - my mower saga. So I did a little research. I tried to link to his name, but that did not give me more info. So I went onto my Stat Counter account and traced it back to how he got to my blog. Go to this site http://www.blogged.com/about/mower/ to see. It is a site called "Mower - Blogs, Pictures, and more on Blogged" and then shows a page "Blogs about: Mower". My blog entry is on this page - how weird is that? (The 5th one down). Anyway, it was just an interesting turn of events.

I'm an addict...

I did not used to like this show at all. Not one bit. My husband would be roaring with laughter and I would just sit there thinking that Michael Scott was so dumb and extremely insensitive. Well, I'm not sure what changed but I'm an addict now. I love it! It's on tonight - got to go!!

Busy!

I guess it is pretty bad when your brother asks when you are going to post to your blog!! Well, the past few weeks have been crazy busy. Between the new calling, the snow, work, still trying to sell the Lacey house and regular family stuff, my computer had crashed before Christmas and I had lost EVERY picture that I had taken since August 2008. I have an external hard-drive and that was the last time I had done a backup. The perfectionist in me wanted to clean up some duplicate pictures or bad shots so that my backup would be "clean". Morale of the story? Backup even if it is not perfect! I then spent (no joke) about 10 days straight trying to recover my photos. Even after the hard drive had been formatted, I was able to recover most of my photos. I downloaded a recovery software that chunked away for those 10 days finding any jpeg file I had ever had on my computer. Came up with 9,000 or so. Then I had to meticulously go through to see what I wanted to save. Some were only partials as part of the file had been written over, some were pre-August 2008 ones so I already had those, and the majority of those files were just various graphics that you see whenever you open and Internet web page. So it was definitely a very time consuming process to recover pictures from our anniversary, our birthdays, and our fall activities. Whew!

Chicken Noodle Soup

My daughter absolutely ADORES this soup. She was working on her recipe book and came across this recipe. I got it from Jean Wynia a few years back and it has become a favorite in our household. There are no quantities, just put in what you want - sorry!

HOMEMADE CHICKEN NOODLE SOUP

Saute onions, garlic and butter in soup stock pan

Add:
Cooked, shredded chicken (Deli roasted works great)
Celery, chopped
Carrots, chopped
Kale or Mustard greens (use scissors and cut into small pieces)
2 big cans chicken broth (or make your own)
Lemon pepper
Dill

Add all the ingredients into the soup pot and cook on medium until carrots are tender. About 20 minutes before serving, add noodles. Look at the package and cook for lenth of noodle-cooking time. NOTE: Must use "Country Pasta" brand (you can find at Costco) because everyone will think you made the noodles from scratch!!

New Calling

This might give you a clue on my new calling? They released me from the Relief Society Communication Specialist position today so I had to prepare for the transition by setting up a generic email & blog account and then changing owners of the RS Blog that I had started back in August. Then I prepped some notes and handed this job over to Kelsey today. She was excited for the new calling and will do well! But back to my new calling: I'm the Beehive Advisor. Originally I thought that meant only teaching on Sundays so accepted the calling with no qualms. But it includes much, much, much, much more. I'm a bit overwhelmed now but hopefully will be able to get it all done without too much additional stress (...right!). By the way, I'm still the organist for the 4th & 5th Sundays and in addition, still the choir accompanist. I do love the new theme for 2009: "Be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity" (1 Timothy 4:12)

Disney Clue Game

Mickey sent us this game for Christmas - wasn't that nice? It is "Clue - Tower of Terror" and we had to pull it out and play it the other day. The Disney twist is that no one dies, the person gets "lost" in xx room with xx prop. So every time someone accidentally said "xx did it", the rest would correct them to say "xx got lost". The rooms were of course themed to the Tower of Terror, so it was the lobby, the boiler room, a guest room or the Tip Top Club. We had a fun time playing this game and spending time with each other.

Snow

Just a few funnies to get through this crazy weather!
